New Homes for Star and Booboo
In week 10 we did technology. We built houses for Star and Booboo. The houses were made out of cardboard, string, tape, glue, wool, feathers and pompoms. Some people worked in groups and some people worked by themselves. They turned out to look like real houses. We had loads of fun making them.
Have a look at the photos below to see what our constructions looked like.

Week 9 Bloggers
Week 9 Bloggers reported on our science fun activity of making sherbet and also on our little exploding volcano activity. It took a few takes to record the message about the volcano but once they got over the giggles it went well.
Connor also included his writing and photos from his family trip that he took our class mascot Booboo on.
We hope you enjoys our latest posts.
My trip to Rarotonga
Last month our family went to Rarotonga for 8 days. The funnest thing we did was snorkling. It was as clear as a fish tank and we could see amazing coloured fish. We hired two black scooters to explore the island. It was as hot as the desert. Unfortunately we had to return to winter again.

Sherbet Fizz
On Friday, it was really exciting because we saw Science written on the board. We got to make Sherbet Fizz. The ingredients were: raspberry jelly, icing sugar, citric acid and baking soda. There was a little bit of Booboo in it too because he kept putting his face into the sherbet bowl!
The results tasted good. Here is what some people thought:
Ella said it 'Burst in her mouth.'
Charlie thought it was very tasty and he wants to make it again.
Jesse described it as bubbles on his tongue.
'It was like the lava from a volcano' was how Hazel described it.

Week 8 Bloggers
We have been learning about rainforests. We have learnt many things like there are tropical and temperate rainforests, rainforests give us medicine and food, half of the medicines used today are from rainforests and the cocoa beans make us chocolate.
We need to save our rainforests and stop deforestation!
Lantern Making
On Thursday the 27th of June some children made some lanterns. We made them for the parade which is part of the International Festival of the Arts.
We got 10 bamboo sticks and five rubber bands. We made a frame using the bamboo sticks and rubber bands. Then we put white tissue paper on first and then decorated with cut bits of coloured paper. A hook was put on them to help us carry them during the parade.
The parade is on the 17th of August.
We enjoyed making the lanterns and it was a fun day. Have a look at the Photo Slideshow below to see our lanterns.
